This crowdfund is raising £3,000 to grow Natural Champions across East Hackney. Natural Champions is a habitat-building and nature-engaging programme that equips young people, adults and local businesses to bring wildlife into city living through practical, everyday actions. The campaign runs for six weeks, from 17 December 2025 to 28 January 2026. Funding will help us reach more families, schools and local businesses, properly support the volunteers delivering sessions, and resource more habitat work across the neighbourhood. Donations are matched throughout the campaign, so every gift is doubled.
What
Where
The programme builds on our hub sites at Daubeney Primary School, Hackney Marsh Adventure Playground and Robin Hood Community Garden, and extends into the surrounding East Hackney neighbourhood through community-led micro-habitats in everyday spaces, including gardens, balconies, estates and nearby streets.
Why
Hackney is full of vibrant communities, but for wildlife it can be fragmented and hard to survive. Small, local actions add up. All donations are matched during the campaign, so your contribution goes twice as far, helping create more wildlife-friendly habitats between green spaces and funding the training, workshops and community activity that enable people to take practical action for nature where they live, learn and play.
What Achieved
Our target is £3,000, which will fund:
• £1,500 training, workshops and outreach
• £1,000 community engagement and celebration (events, speakers, posters, film and social storytelling)
• £500 essentials (transport, insurance, tools and unexpected needs)
If you can, please donate and share the campaign. Every gift helps this corner of London buzz, bloom and sing.
